This is a pair of very unusual salt and pepper shakers from Mason's cranberry pink transferware in the Watteau pattern. This pottery is made from ironstone and is very durable. The pattern is inspired by the French artist Jean Antoine Watteau and is inspired by romantic countryside scenes of couple in period attire. It is very rare to find both sizes of this set. The large one is for salt, the smaller one for pepper. They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks. You can see light crazing in the photos.
