Hello, here is a Long! VERY rare PALM FROND Fossil with TWO Winged INSECT fossils all in their 50 Million Year Old Green River Formation Matrix! This fossil was quarried in an extinct lake that is known as Fossil Lake in Lincoln County, Wyoming.
Here's More Info.....Fifty-million years ago this plant was alive near an ancient Lake existed in what is now southwest Wyoming. The unusual chemistry of the lake created conditions that prevented decay and scavenging, while alternating layers of limestone and organic matter accumulated. The resulting laminated limestone contains the highest concentration of articulated fish fossils in the world!
The PALM frond fossil measures around 98.75" or 22.2cm and the overall piece or matrix is a long 9" or 22.7cm at its biggest. Please note that a display STAND is included and this piece has been slightly restored and or enhanced.
