This is a painting of a beautiful “Russian Painted Church” in Novosibirsk, by Scottish painter Andrew Gilchrist. This painting is done with marker pens. It is signed in the lower right bottom corner. The title of the painting, with Mr Gilchrist’s name and date of the painting (1991), is listed on the back of the original Masonic board backing which comes with the painting (see photo). Painting is 8.75 x 12.5 inches, matted in a new acid free white mat with a new 1.5 inch wide brown wood frame with d-rings/wire hanger. Total size is 19 x 23 inches. Andrew Gilchrist lives in Edinburgh, has autism, and has been a student at Leith School of Art for the past 25 years, painting a large body of work. I got this painting when I was visiting Edinburgh for holiday. I love the texture of the sky from the choice of paper, plus that little red car in front of the church!
