Chinese Seiju Elm Bonsai Tree

The Ulmus parvifolia ‘Seiju’, known as the Chinese Elm or Lacebark Elm, is a hardy deciduous tree admired for its glossy green leaves, fine branching, and mottled bark. Native to China, Korea, and Japan, it’s prized for bonsai due to its resilience and elegant form. The ‘Seiju’ variety is a dwarf type with slightly larger leaves and faster growth than ‘Hokkaido’, making it perfect for beginners or collectors. Its bark develops a corky texture as it matures, adding beauty and character. Grows best in full sun to partial shade with slightly moist soil. Mature height up to 10 ft unpotted. Includes one live pre-bonsai Chinese Elm in a nursery pot. Each plant is unique; size and shape may vary slightly. 6 years old, 10-11" tall. May be shipped with mature, turning and transitioning foliage in late summer (August), this is a normal, annual process as the tree prepares for dormancy. May be shipped with no foliage during autumn and winter. Tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow foliage
