The Piasa Bird sculpture was made by Gary Levi of Levay Glass in Alton in the 1990s. Gary created these amazing cast pewter sculptures and combined those with fine hand blown art glass in the Mid 1990's. The end result is pretty incredible. This Piasa Bird and the iridescent egg wonderful. The base is egg shaped and done in the favrile, aurene style with beautiful iridized or iridescence glass. It is artist signed in the glass on the back with their maker's mark. This is about 4 1/2" tall by 2 5/8" long by 2" wide. The base is about 2 5/8" in diameter.
